These are a few of my favorite...furniture lines!

Picking out a piece of new furniture today is like going to a clothing show in a football stadium.  Imagine the overwhelming feeling you'd have walking into that stadium and seeing racks and racks of outfits, fabric samples, styles, combinations...well you get the idea. For most of us, we simply don't want that many options to choose from. Rather, we prefer someone (an expert preferably) to single out the best looks, best styles, and best combinations and then give us the short list to make our decision from there.   Enter Julie Couch of Julie Couch Interiors.  With her impeccable eye and thorough design knowledge, Julie has given us her short list for her 5 favorite furniture lines. BACKGROUND: Julie is a Tennessee native, currently at home in Nashville. Her love of design and painting began in childhood and has continued to grow. Julie graduated magna cum laude from the University of Tennessee, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History. She then studied Interior Design in Atlanta, Georgia at The Art Institute as well as in Franklin, Tennessee at O’More College of Design and Nashville’s Watkins College.  Julie is passionate about creating livable, beautiful spaces that convey the homeowners’ personalities and tastes. She has completed projects across the Southeast including those in Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee as well vacation homes in Naples and Blue Mountain Beach Florida.  Other completed projects include those in New York, Dallas, and San Francisco. My Top 5 Favorite Furniture Lines When the ladies from Interior Canvas asked me to share my five favorite furniture lines, it was a little like being asked which of my yorkies is my favorite.  It's true that I absolutely love furniture, textiles, and lighting so much that I had to really try to narrow my list down to only five! However, I did my best, and I am sharing them with you. Drool-worthy pieces for almost every project we complete come from these five fabulous furniture lines: First, Vanguard Furniture, based in Hickory, NC, was founded in 1969.  And its founder is still CEO today.  Starting small, with just 6 chair styles and 10 velvet colors, the product line has grown steadily to boast 1000's of combinations!  Today, Vanguard employs about 400 people and recycles 90 percent of its factory material waste.  And to stay on the cutting edge of great design, Vanguard has teamed up with well-known interior designers, Michael Weiss and Thom Fillcia to produce truly unique and timeless pieces.   [caption id="attachment_1030" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="Vanguard Wing Chairs"][/caption] [caption id="attachment_978" align="aligncenter" width="360" caption="Vanguard Side Chair"][/caption]   Next, Hickory Chair, also based in North Carolina, just celebrated 100 years of making beautiful furniture.  The line still produces stately and traditional pieces, but since teaming up with Mariette Himes Gomes, Suzanne Kasler, and Thomas O'Brien, the breadth of the line is practically limitless offering transitional and modern looks!  Hickory Chair specializes in specializing, so almost any piece can be customized in dozens of ways.  From simply changing a nailhead finish to revamping the overall dimensions of a sofa, these gorgeous pieces can always "fit the bill" just perfectly.   [caption id="attachment_974" align="aligncenter" width="540" caption="Hickory Chair Sofa"][/caption] [caption id="attachment_973" align="aligncenter" width="360" caption="Hickory Chair Clover Back"][/caption] [caption id="attachment_972" align="aligncenter" width="360" caption="Hickory Chair"][/caption]   Then, there's Oly Studio. For the truly stunning statement piece, look to this California-based company, founded in 1999 by designers Kate McIntyre and Brad Huntzinger.  Oly uses classic or antique shapes, but absolutely transforms them with thoughtful, cool adjustments to scale or finish.  Clean lines and subtle metallic frames are the signature of an Oly piece.  In fact, the showroom at High Point, NC is a little bit of heaven, bathed in soft romantic light with a dozen shades of ivory upholstery.  [caption id="attachment_1032" align="aligncenter" width="333" caption="Oly Side Table"][/caption] [caption id="attachment_1034" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="Oly Arm Chairs"][/caption]   CR Laine Furniture, founded in 1958, also began in North Carolina when its founder hired three part-time employees to help him produce gooseneck rocking chairs.  It's quite an understatement to say the company has come a long way!  Though still operated by some of the original family members, CR Laine has grown into a line of over 1000 upholstery combinations.  The company takes pride in its high-quality, bench made furniture pieces, and is constantly striving to stay up to date with the most current shapes, styles, and fabric selections.   [caption id="attachment_970" align="aligncenter" width="360" caption="CR Laine Bench"][/caption]   [caption id="attachment_1027" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="CR Laine Chairs"][/caption] [caption id="attachment_1028" align="aligncenter" width="346" caption="CR Laine Host Chair with Vanguard Side Chair"][/caption]   And finally, Noir Furniture LA, also based in California, is the new kid on the block.  In business for just over ten years, Noir has focused on being environmentally conscious and producing quality, solid wood furniture.  Each piece is finished by hand in a process that starts with applying stain, sanding repeatedly, and then finishing each piece with a lacquer topcoat or wax.  The company is growing quickly not only because of its attention to detail, but because its unique casegoods, in multiple distressed and painted wood finishes, blend seamlessly with traditional, transitional or modern interiors.   [caption id="attachment_975" align="aligncenter" width="360" caption="Noir Chest"][/caption] [caption id="attachment_976" align="aligncenter" width="360" caption="Noir Side Chairs with Vanguard Host Chairs"][/caption]     So, what's your favorite line of furniture in your home?
