The O'More Designer Show House Sneak Peek (Part III)

We are in the home stretch before the curtain is raised and the O'More Designer Show House is ready for its unveiling. It seems like only yesterday that we (Interior Canvas) were sitting in a conference room at the O'More College of Design, listening as each featured designer for this House discussed their inspirations and ideas for their assigned room.  We could feel the buzz of excitement and were truly inspired by the talent surrounding us.   Today, we are featuring three more talented design firms, the rooms they are designing, and hints as to what we might see in a few short weeks!

Let's talk about the ENTRY!

The entry to the home is where guests are greeted and welcomed. This space is purely about inviting people in, while also giving them their first impression about the home's style, decor and aesthetic. We love the fact that O'More alums, Roger Higgins and Ann Shipp (both class of 1993) of R. Higgins Interiors, are designing the Show House's Entry Hall!

Roger Higgins and Ann Shipp opened the doors of R. Higgins Interiors in 1994 after meeting at O’More College of Design. The partners describe their relationship as each of them being “half of a bowling ball” which couldn’t be more appropriate. Without the combination of Roger’s creative enthusiasm and Ann’s resourceful ingenuity, the company would not be able to land a perfect strike as they do with each project they face. The pair keep one thing in mind when working and that is always the client. They believe the most significant element in the process of creating a home is the people who live in it, and it is with that philosophy in which their endless inspiration stems.  Just take a look at a few of their cleverly curated spaces...

Now you can only imagine how their creative brilliance will translate to the Show House's entry! We can't wait!!

Let's talk about BEDROOM SUITE #2!

This Designer Show House is pulling out all the bells and whistles. In addition to a gorgeous master suite downstairs, there are two phenomenal bedroom suites upstairs! There is always something so romantic and dreamy about bedroom decor. Comfortable, soothing and serene are all words that come to mind when we think of this space.  Here are some examples of bedroom suites we can't get enough of:

So who will have the lucky task of designing Bedroom Suite #2?  Why, none other than O'More Alum JoAnne Haynes (class of 1981) of J.Haynes Interiors!

A multi award-winning interior designer and successful antiques and interiors retailer for more than 35 years, JoAnne Haynes has built a reputation for impeccable taste, a vast network of resources and a passion for creating the perfect spaces for her clients.   J. Haynes Interiors is a full service interior design company that specializes in new construction, project management, interior architecture and space planning.  These attributes have come in handy, as JoAnne has taken on the task of "Project Manager" of the entire Show House, in addition to designing this bedroom suite! (We wonder how much sleep she is getting right now)

Running a successful antique and interior design business requires a keen eye for detail and a timeless sense of design.  These two traits describe JoAnne to a "T" and make us confident that this suite she's designing will be classic, current and elegant.  We cannot wait to see it!

Let's talk about the POWDER ROOM!

The powder room is one of our personal favorite rooms in the home. Although it is one of the smallest rooms in the house, its style and flair can make it one of the mightiest.  Bold colors, daring prints and extravagant fixtures all are welcomed with open arms in this itty bitty spot. The following images make our imagination run wild when thinking of ideas for this space.

Who better than to take the reins for this dynamic spot than O'More alum Jennifer Jones (class of 1983) of Jennifer Jones Designs, Inc.

A veteran of more than a dozen show house and tour of homes events, Jennifer brings 32 years in practice as a professional designer.  Her work has been featured in numerous local and national design magazines, and she was listed in Manchester’s "Who’s Who Among Executive & Professional Interior Designers" in 2005. She currently serves as the chair for the Middle Tennessee Chapter of ASID, and is the statewide president-elect.

So how will Jennifer transform this tiny powder room space? What fixtures, wallcovering and colors will she choose? The secret will be out very soon and we're excited!!
