Your Christmas Playlist

Christmastime is often associated with sights and smells: Twinkling lights, mulling spices, red bows, thick garlands, sausage balls, holly berries, fresh cut pine trees and more. But to me, the sounds of Christmastime are just as important. And I am not uber-picky! From traditional carols to new versions of old tunes - I love them all. And what better way to get into the Christmas spirit than with great music softening the chaos that usually surrounds us this time of year. So if you're looking for a few Holiday songs to add to your playlist this year, I suggest considering these to get you in the mood:

Bing Crosby - "White Christmas"

Mariah Carey - "All I Want for Christmas is You"

Nat King Cole - "God Rest You Merry Gentlemen"

Pentatonix - "Mary, Did you Know"

Michael W. Smith - "Gloria" (and yes, I am biased. I sang in the children's choir for this song. LONG ago.)-- But really, ALL of his Christmas albums are amazing and worth adding.

Amy Grant - "Tennessee Christmas,"  "Grown Up Christmas List," "For Unto Us a Child is Born"

Michael Buble - "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas"

Dean Martin - "Baby, It's Cold Outside"

George Winston (piano)- "The Holly and the Ivy"

Jim Brickman (piano)- "Carol of the Bells"

Kelly Clarkson - "Underneath the Tree"

Sidewalk Prophets - "What a Glorious Night"

Bebo Norman - "Come and Worship"

Ella Fitzgerald - "Angels We Have Heard on High"

Michele McLaughlin - "Joy to the World"

Tchaikovsky - "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy"

Charlie Brown Christmas theme song

Celine Dion - "O Holy Night"

The Piano Guys - "O Come O Come, Emmanuel"

Mormon Tabernacle Choir - "Hallelujah Chorus"

Bing Crosby - "Winter Wonderland"

Bruce Springsteen - "Santa Claus is Coming To Town"

Judy Garland - "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas"

Josh Groban - "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear"

Andy Williams - "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year"

There are dozens more I could list, but I've got gifts to wrap!!

In the meantime, get your Christmas cheer on and don't be afraid to belt it out to your favorite holiday music! I know I will!
