Master Bathroom Overhauled (A Before and After Story)

I love "Before and After" stories. By far, they are my most favorite to read. As the reader, you get instant gratification within seconds, by looking at the dated "before" shots and the amazing "after" shots. As the homeowner, you realize just how "worth it" the long weeks of construction were and are even more appreciative of how good your space looks now!

Today I am featuring the master bathroom renovation of one Interior Canvas Home reader. Structurally, this bathroom was in sound shape, but cosmetically, the space needed some major updating.

The homeowners purchased their home in 2003, and over the years they had updated most of the rooms to a more modern and current aesthetic. But, the master bathroom had yet to be dealt with.

The homeowners had clear goals: Replace the 1980's dated look with a space that felt more modern, crisp and clean.

Here are some "Before Pictures" with details of what the homeowners wanted changed:

1. Overhaul the entire vanity area including: new cabinetry, new countertops, added lighting and new flooring (old carpet be gone!!)

2. Remove the old garden tub, mammoth tile surround and flooring. Replace with a freestanding tub and new flooring.

3. Replace the dated shower door, shower backsplash, floor tile and dated fixtures.

Are your ready for the "After" shots? Wow....just wow!

Carrara Marble Countertops steal the show on top of this new custom vanity, while the dark hardwood floors add a gorgeous contrast.

New square sinks and faucets from Kohler help modernize the space.

Beautiful sconces from Visual Comfort add much needed lighting!

An elegant and more current freestanding MTI tub replaces the dated garden tub.

The white tile flooring is now replaced with stunning Carrara Marble Tiles.

And look at the updated shower! The Carrara Marble continues around the outside with a new shower door framed within.

I love the Carrarra Marble penny tile for the flooring and the white subway tile to keep that clean, fresh and modern look.

So, going from drab...

To fab!

It was worth the wait!

And that submarine garden tub...

Has now been replaced with a stunning freestanding tub and beautiful marble surround!

The dated carpet, old vanity and bad lighting...

Is now replaced with gorgeous hardwoods, new cabinetry, marble countertops and sconces!

Bravo to all of these improvements!!

A gorgeous "Before and After" story with a very happy ending
